HEC & University RegulationsMerit is calculated by combining your entry test score (ECAT/NET/MDCAT/NAT) with academic marks (FSc and Matric) using university-specific weightages. NUST uses 75% NET + 15% FSc + 10% Matric.
UET Lahore 2026 (Fall) merit formula: Merit score = (ECAT/400 × 33) + (FSc/1100 × 50) + (Matric/1100 × 17), giving a score out of 100 used for merit ranking.
Most universities publish merit lists between August and October 2026. NUST announces NET-based merit in August. UET and medical college lists come in September-October after ECAT and MDCAT results.
