1. The "Pity" Personal Statement
Do not write an essay begging for sympathy about your financial conditions or the state of the country. Scholarship panels want to invest in future leaders, not charities. Frame your struggles as obstacles you actively defeated to achieve your current academic standing.
2. Weak Letters of Recommendation (LORs)
A generic 5-line letter from your Head of Department that says "He was a good student and got an A" is useless.

4. Applying to the Most Famous University
Erasmus Mundus allows you to pick specific consortiums. Don't just apply to the most famous program. Find the niche track that exactly matches your Final Year Project or undergraduate research.
5. Poor English Formatting
Run your documents through Grammarly or have a trusted senior review them.
