COMSATS Lahore: Detailed Department Guide & Career Outcomes
COMSATS is highly respected, but different departments yield vastly different career trajectories.
1. Computing (CS, SE, AI)
- Vibe: Highly intense, massively competitive, excellent faculty.
- Outcomes: Stellar. A 3.2+ CGPA student from COMSATS CS will usually have a job offer from Systems Ltd, Arbisoft, or NETSOL before they even finish their 8th semester.
2. Electrical Engineering (EE & Computer Engineering)
- Vibe: Hardware-focused, heavily mathematical.
- Outcomes: Moderate. Since the telecom boom slowed down, pure EE jobs are harder to find. However, EE students who pivot into Embedded Systems (C/C++) or IoT find excellent, high-paying niches.
3. Management Sciences (BBA / Accounting)
- Vibe: Highly social, presentation-heavy, very active in societies.
- Outcomes: Good, but highly dependent on internships. Unlike CS where a portfolio gets you a job, Management students rely heavily on university network contacts for entry-level HR/Marketing positions.
