Punjab University Scholarships & Financial Aid 2026
PU provides some of the cheapest higher education in the world locally, yet immense financial aid is still available for struggling students.
1. The PEEF Hegemony
Because PU is a provincial government flagship, a massive chunk of the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is funneled directly into PU. If you hold a Punjab domicile and achieved 60%+ in FSc but your parent's monthly income is under 35,000 PKR, you are historically highly likely to secure the PEEF Master Level or BS Level scholarship.
2. Zakat Funds and Internal Need-Base
PU maintains significant internal Zakat & Ushr committees. For severely destitute or orphan students, presenting a verified affidavit to the Vice Chancellor's committee can result in total hostel and tuition fee waivers. This is completely separate from merit.
3. Maintaining Eligibility
The biggest trap PU students fall into is losing their scholarship due to low SGPA in semester 1. Almost all HEC or PEEF grants require maintaining a minimum 2.50 CGPA. If you fail a course or face a disciplinary action, your funding is immediately permanently revoked.
