How to Build a Smart Study Plan in a Busy Semester — Without Losing Your Sanity
When a semester has 6 courses, 4 labs, and a final year project, a generic "study harder" approach fails. You need systemized triage.
1. The Triage Method (High vs Low Stakes)
Categorize your courses. Determine which 2 courses are the highest threat to your GPA (e.g., Data Structures and Calculus). Dedicate 70% of your weekend study blocks strictly to these. Let "easier" courses (like Pak Studies or Tech Comm) slide into minor week-night review slots.
2. The Weekly Brain Dump
Every Sunday night, write down every single lab, quiz, and assignment deadline for the upcoming 7 days on paper. Do not rely on Whatsapp group messages to remind you. Plot them on Google Calendar and assign 'deep work' blocks before the deadlines.
3. Strategic Abandonment
If you have a 2% quiz tomorrow and a 15% project due the next day, and you only have time for one—abandon the quiz. Take a zero or a low grade on the 2% item to protect the massive 15% chunk. This hurts perfectionists, but it saves GPAs.
