COMSATS GPA Guide 2026: How to Improve CGPA Without Burnout
COMSATS uses a strict relative grading curve in many courses, meaning you are not fighting the textbook—you are fighting your classmates.
1. Dominate the Sessionals
COMSATS breaks midterms into Sessional 1 and Sessional 2. Do not treat Sessional 1 lightly. If you score 10/15 in Sessional 1, you will spend the entire semester desperately trying to recover. Maximize your score early when the syllabus only covers 3-4 chapters.
2. The 80% Attendance Trap
The COMSATS attendance portal is unforgiving. If you hit 79%, the system locks you out of the final exam, effectively crashing your GPA to a 0.0 for that course. Never skip classes early in the semester. Save your skips for week 14 when project deadlines are crushing you.
3. Strategic Course Withdrawal
COMSATS allows course withdrawal before finals without an 'F' appearing strictly on your transcript (it appears as a 'W'). If you are mathematically guaranteed to fail a tough pre-requisite class, forcefully withdraw. A 'W' delays your degree by a semester but protects your overall CGPA from a devastating plummet.
