COMSATS Merit Calculation Guide 2026: Aggregate Formula & Strategy
Getting into COMSATS (especially Islamabad or Lahore campuses for CS) requires a surgically precise aggregate strategy.
1. The Formula
The 2026 formula for standard IT/Engineering degrees:
- Matric/O-Level: 10%
- FSc/A-Level (Part 1): 40%
- NTS NAT Score: 50% Note: Architecture and Design programs have different weightages involving creative tests.
2. The Safe Aggregate Zone (Islamabad & Lahore)
For Software Engineering (SE) and Computer Science (CS), the closing merit has been climbing violently. A "safe" aggregate for Fall 2026 admissions in these top campuses is universally considered to be 86%+. Anything below 83% for CS is a heavy risk.
3. The Multiple-NTS Hack
COMSATS allows you to submit multiple NTS NAT results. If you score 70/100 in NAT-1, do not stop. Register for NAT-2 and NAT-3. COMSATS automatically picks your highest valid score. Squeezing an extra 8 marks on a retake test can push your aggregate over the fatal cut-off line.
