Calculating your path to success...
Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) provides free online education through video lectures and digital resources, making quality higher education accessible to working professionals nationwide through 100+ learning centers.
The Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) GPA calculator allows you to compute your semester Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) instantly. Calculations are based on the official 4.0 grading system of VU.
VU follows the HEC (Higher Education Commission) recommended grading scale, with a maximum GPA of 4.0. A minimum passing grade of A+ is required to earn credit hours.
While this calculator uses the verified VU grading scale (Verified), individual department boards or campuses may use custom criteria. Always check your official university student portal (e.g. CUOnline, NUST LMS) for the official transcript results.
Use this free VU CGPA calculator: enter each course name, credit hours (2–4), and grade. VU grading: A+ = 4.0 (90–100%), A = 4.0 (85–89%), A– = 3.67 (80–84%), B+ = 3.33 (75–79%), B = 3.0 (70–74%), B– = 2.67 (68–70%), C = 2.0 (61–67%), D = 1.0 (50–60%). Formula: CGPA = Sum of (Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours. Maximum CGPA is 4.00.
Virtual University uses a 9-grade scale: A+ (4.0, 90–100%), A (4.0, 85–89%), A– (3.67, 80–84%), B+ (3.33, 75–79%), B (3.0, 70–74%), B– (2.67, 68–70%), C (2.0, 61–67%), D (1.0, 50–60%), F (0.0, below 50%). Note: VU does not use fractional grades like B+/B– subdivisions below B–; the jump from D (1.0) to C (2.0) is at 61%.
The minimum passing CGPA at Virtual University is 1.7. Students below 1.7 CGPA are placed on academic probation. You must maintain at least 1.7 CGPA to remain enrolled.
VU does not charge regular tuition. Students only pay minimal exam fees, registration fees, and course enrollment fees — making it the most affordable HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
Yes, VU is fully chartered and HEC recognized since 2002. VU degrees are valid for government jobs, FPSC/PPSC tests, and higher education including abroad. Degrees carry the same weight as conventional university degrees.
VU conducts proctored mid-term and final exams at 100+ VU facilitation centers (VUFCs) across Pakistan — from Karachi to Gilgit. Students appear at their nearest center. This makes it ideal for working professionals who cannot attend daily classes.
GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated for a single semester. CGPA (Cumulative GPA) is the running average across all completed semesters. Both use the same 4.0 scale. This VU CGPA calculator computes both in one step — just add all your semesters.
