The University of Karachi (KU) merit calculator is designed to help prospective students compute their aggregate score for undergraduate admissions. Admissions at KU are based on a weighted combination of your past academic scores and entry test performance.
The default aggregate formula for KU admissions is:
To apply for undergraduate admission at KU, students must meet the minimum percentage criteria in Intermediate exams (usually 50% to 60% depending on engineering, computer science, or business disciplines). Additionally, passing the required entrance tests (KU Entry Test, NTS) is mandatory.
Admissions are program-route specific. Open Merit and qualifying departments use 100% Intermediate (HSC) academic weight. Visual Studies uses HSC (20%) + Aptitude Test (60%) + Interview (20%). KUBS programs use a 60% entry test weight.
KU primarily uses its own entry tests or NTS. SAT scores are not typically accepted for undergraduate admissions.
KU typically opens admissions in August-September each year. Check the official website for exact dates.
