UET Lahore Merit Calculation Guide 2026: Aggregate Formula
UET Lahore is the undisputed king of public-sector engineering in Punjab. Their merit calculation relies incredibly heavily on FSc marks.
1. The FSc-Heavy Formula
The traditional UET formula places massive weight on your intermediate exams:
- FSc (Part 1 or Total): 70%
- ECAT Test Score: 30% Unlike NUST which prioritizes the entry test, UET is built for students who aggressively rote-memorized the Punjab Textbook Board books and scored 1040+/1100 in FSc.
2. ECAT Realities
The ECAT (400 total marks) is a 100 MCQ test with negative marking (-1 for wrong answers). A score above 200/400 is considered elite. A score of 120/400 is perfectly average. Use your high FSc score to carry your aggregate, and simply play it safe on the ECAT by avoiding wild guessing.
3. The 2nd and 3rd Merit Lists
If you want Civil, Mechanical, or standard Electrical Engineering at the main Lahore campus, cutoffs hover aggressively high. However, never panic if you miss the first merit list. UET runs multiple lists. Students frequently drop out to go to NUST or medical colleges, drastically lowering the UET closing merit by the 3rd and 4th lists.
