NAT Test Guide 2026: Registration, Syllabus, Preparation & Tips
The NTS NAT (National Aptitude Test) is your universal backup key. Scores are valid for one year, and dozens of universities (COMSATS, FAST, IST) accept it.
1. NAT Categories Matter
You must register for the correct category. NAT-IE (Pre-Engineering), NAT-IM (Pre-Medical), NAT-ICS (Computer Science). The subject portion (Physics/Chemistry/Math) constitutes 30% of the test. The remaining 70% is generic (English, Quantitative, Analytical).
2. The Analytical Reasoning Filter
Most FSc students fail the NAT because of the Analytical Reasoning section. This section tests logic games (e.g., "If A sits next to B, but C cannot sit next to D..."). Your board exams never taught you this. You must isolate 10 days strictly to practice GAT/NAT style analytical matrices. Draw diagrams to solve these.
3. Quantitative Overload
The quantitative section tests basic 8th-grade math (percentages, ratios, algebra) but under extreme time limits. Do not use complex algebraic formulas if plugging in the MCQ answers works faster. Speed is the only metric that matters in the NAT.
