How to Write Faculty Reviews That Actually Help Juniors
Writing "Sir was nice" or "Worst teacher ever" on the CampusAxis Faculty Review portal is useless to incoming students. Here is how to write an actionable, analytical professor review.
1. Break Down the Grading System
The most important information any student wants is the grading metric. State exactly how the professor grades:
- "Midterms were purely from slides, but finals required deep theoretical understanding."
- "Sir curves the final grade aggressively; a raw 65% became a B+."
2. Evaluate the Assignment Workload
Does the professor assign a 500-line Java project every weekend, or do they give simple 3-page theoretical assignments every month? Knowing the workload helps students balance this course against other heavy courses.
3. Note the Attendance Leniency
Some professors lock the classroom door exactly at 8:31 AM and mark you absent. Others allow you to walk in 20 minutes late. Mentioning this helps commuting students who rely on unpredictable public transport.
4. Maintain Professionalism
Do not launch personal attacks or use abusive language. Focus purely on their academic delivery, marking strictness, and classroom management. Reviews containing slurs or unverified cheating accusations are automatically stripped by the moderation queue.
