GIKI Merit Calculation Guide 2026: How to Secure Admission
The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) is a heavily secluded, highly elite engineering enclave in Topi. Their admission process is notoriously isolated.
1. The GIKI Entry Test Is Everything
GIKI uses its own private entrance exam. They assign a crushing 85% to 90% weight strictly to this internal test. Your Matric (10%) and FSc (usually acts only as a bare minimum 60% eligibility line) barely impact the final aggregate. You must destroy the GIKI admission test to get into CS or Artificial Intelligence.
2. The Math/Physics Dominance
The GIKI test usually comprises 80 MCQs (Math/Physics) and 20 MCQs (Chemistry/English). The math section strictly targets advanced Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Integration speeds. The Physics section frequently throws pure numerical calculations that require rapid mental math (calculators are not allowed).
3. Strategic Degree Selection
CS and AI at GIKI have hyper-inflated closing merits. However, elite engineering fields like Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering frequently have much lower cutoffs. If you simply want the elite GIKI network, strongly consider applying to their core mechanical disciplines rather than fighting 5,000 students for 50 CS seats.
