How to Secure Tech Internships in Pakistan Before Graduation
Graduating with a 3.5 CGPA but 0 internship experience puts you at a massive disadvantage compared to a 2.8 CGPA student who has spent two summers working at software houses.
1. Stop Relying on University Job Fairs
University job fairs are great for dropping your CV into a massive pile, but they rarely yield immediate technical interviews. Your best resource is LinkedIn.
2. The Cold Outreach Strategy
Find HR Managers, Talent Acquisition leads, or CTOs of companies in Lahore, Karachi, or Islamabad (e.g., Systems Ltd, Arbisoft, Devsinc). Send a structured message:
"Hi [Name], I am a 6th-semester CS student at [University]. I recently built [Project Name] using React/Node.js, which [Solves X problem]. Are you currently taking on summer interns for your frontend team?"
3. Build a Live Portfolio
A GitHub repository link is good, but a heavily deployed Vercel or Netlify link is better. If recruiters can click a link on their phone and immediately use an app you built, your chances of an interview skyrocket.
4. Learn Git Before Applying
If you don't know how to push, pull, branch, and merge code using Git, no company will trust you with their production codebase.
