7 Mistakes Students Make During Course Registration — And How to Avoid Every One
Course registration day is a warzone. If you make a mistake, you might end up with an impossible schedule.
1. Ignoring Course Prerequisites
Trying to register for "Data Structures" without having cleared "Object-Oriented Programming" will result in a system error. Know the dependency tree of your degree.
2. Registering for 8 AM Classes Everyday
You will miss the 8 AM classes by week 4. Try to cluster your classes between 10 AM and 2 PM to avoid morning commute burnout.
3. Not Checking the Professor's Grading History
Two professors teaching the exact same course can have wildly different curves. Ask your seniors. If Professor A has never awarded an 'A' grade in ten years, avoid their section at all costs.
4. Spreading Classes Too Thin
Having a class at 9 AM, then a 6-hour gap, then a class at 4 PM is destructive to your productivity. Group your classes tightly together so you can study or go home afterward.
